| I researched and wrote MOTHER POWER during the most difficult time of my life, when my son was battling cancer. I needed role models to show me how to stay strong in times of trouble and despair.
I discovered how women are using MOTHER POWER to deal with their own personal problems and help their own children. But, I found that MOTHER POWER is much broader than that. All over the world, women are using maternal skills to help people they don’t even know.
The most exciting thing I learned about MOTHER POWER is that any maternal woman can use it. Women using MOTHER POWER to accomplish their goals often have no other source of power – no wealth, impressive position or credentials. I was so inspired by the women I researched and interviewed that I want to help women discover and use their innate MOTHER POWER.
Jean Paul, and I often talked about how blessed we were to have the support of good doctors, our small but caring family, and a number of steadfast friends. We were painfully aware that many mothers and children struggle alone with their problems. So, when Jean Paul died, I decided to complete MOTHER POWER and donate the proceeds in his name to registered charities which help families and children improve their lives.
